Cream & Cheese Pasta Recipe ๐Ÿ

A rich, creamy, restaurant-style pasta that’s easy to make at home.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 250 g pasta (penne, fettuccine, or spaghetti)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ยฝ cup grated Mozzarella
  • ยฝ tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • ยผ cup reserved pasta water
  • Fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook pasta until al dente according to package instructions.
  3. Reserve ยผ cup pasta water, then drain.

Step 2: Make the Cream Sauce

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat.
  2. Add garlic and cook for 30โ€“60 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the cream and simmer gently for 2 minutes.

Step 3: Add the Cheese

  1. Lower the heat.
  2. Stir in Parmesan gradually until melted.
  3. Add Mozzarella and stir until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  4. Season with black pepper and a little salt if needed.

Step 4: Combine

  1. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet.
  2. Toss to coat evenly.
  3. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.

Step 5: Serve

  • Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan.
  • Serve hot.

Chef’s Secret

For an even richer flavor, add 1 tablespoon of cream cheese while melting the cheeses. It makes the sauce extra silky and helps prevent separation.

Quick Variations

  • Chicken: Add grilled chicken slices.
  • Mushroom: Sautรฉ mushrooms before adding the cream.
  • Spicy: Add red pepper flakes.
  • Italian: Mix in a little Pecorino Romano with the Parmesan.
